It's finally here! After rolling out the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S22 series in Korea and the USA, Samsung is now finally turning its attention toward Europe.

The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are now getting One UI 7 in markets across the Old Continent. The update carries firmware version S90xBXXUDFYD9, weighs roughly 4.5GB, and includes the April 2025 security patch (via @tarunvats33).

The long-awaited One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S22 debuted in Korea near the end of April, and in a rare turn of events, the USA also received the One UI 7 update before Europe. Now, the latter continent is catching up.

Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra users in Europe can refer to the firmware section of our website if they want to download the official firmware files for manual updates, or they can follow the usual OTA (Over-The-Air) procedure of opening the Settings app, accessing Software update, and tapping Download and install.

This is a hefty update that brings a redesigned visual experience first and foremost. One UI 7 will enhance the Galaxy S22 series with new animations and blur effects, new Samsung app icons and app updates, as well as extra customization options.

Don't expect the full suite of Galaxy AI features from the S25 flagships. The Galaxy S22 is aging and will never offer the same exact Galaxy AI features as Samsung's newer phones. However, at least from a visual point of view, One UI 7 should feel like a breath of fresh air for the Galaxy S22.
