The latest software update for the Galaxy S21 FE comes with firmware versions G990BXXS6EWI1 (for SM-G990B) and G990B2XXS5EWI1 (for SM-G990B2) in Europe. In India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, the smartphone is getting a new security update with firmware version G990EXXS7EWI3. In Canada, the update comes bearing firmware version G990WVLU8EWH5, while the firmware version of the new update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy S21 FE is G990USQS9EWI1 in the US.
The US version of the Galaxy S21 FE is getting the update on AT&T, Comcast, Cricket, DISH, Metro PCS, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile's networks. The factory-unlocked version of the Galaxy S21 FE hasn't received the new update yet. The new update patches over 60 security flaws found in the smartphone.
If you have a Galaxy S21 FE and live in any of the countries or regions mentioned above, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the appropriate firmware for your phone from our firmware database and flash it manually using the Odin tool on a PC running Windows OS.
