March 2023 security update expands to Galaxy S21 FE in Europe and the US

Last week, Samsung released the March 2023 security update to the Galaxy S21 FE in India. Now, the company has expanded the availability of the update to the Galaxy S21 FE in more markets, including other Asian countries, European countries, and the US. More markets will get the new security update within the next few days.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S21 FE comes with firmware version G990BXXS3EWC4 (for SM-G990B) and G990B2XXS2EWC4 (for SM-G990B2) in European countries. In Asia, the update is now available in Nepal and Sri Lanka with firmware version G990EXXS4EWC2. In the US, the carrier-locked version of the smartphone is getting the update with firmware version G990USQU5EWC1.

Galaxy S21 FE March 2023 update fixes over 50 vulnerabilities

These new updates bring the March 2023 security patch that fixes over 50 security vulnerabilities found in Samsung smartphones and tablets. The update might also include some general bug fixes and stability improvements. If you are a Galaxy S21 FE user in any of the regions mentioned above, you can download and install the new software update by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. The company promised to offer four major Android OS updates (up to Android 16) to the device, and it has already released the Android 13-based One UI 5 update to the phone. It will continue to get monthly security updates for at least one year more.
