    Galaxy S21 FE gets July 2023 security update in Asia, Europe, and the US

    Last week, Samsung released the July 2023 security update to the Galaxy S21 FE in some Asian countries, including India. Now, the new security update is rolling out widely in other regions as well, including Europe and the US. The new update is also rolling out in more Asian countries.

    The latest security update for the Galaxy S21 FE comes with the following firmware version:

    • G990BXXS6EWF2 – Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Croatia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Russia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, the UK, and Ukraine.
    • G990EXXS7EWG1 – India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
    • G990USQS8EWF1 – USA Carrier-Locked (US Cellular)

    The new update brings the July 2023 security patch that fixes over 90 security vulnerabilities found in the previous version of the software. It doesn't include any new features or performance enhancements. The new security update could reach the Galaxy S21 FE in more countries in the coming days.

    If you have a Galaxy S21 FE in any of the countries or regions mentioned above, you can now check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

    Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. The company promised to release four major Android OS updates to the Galaxy S21 FE, and it delivered the Android 13 update at the end of 2022. It is expected to get the Android 14 update by the end of this year.
