Samsung tells us that the Galaxy S20 Ultra uses Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and back and is the first Galaxy phone to do so. The Galaxy S10 series was the first from Samsung to use Gorilla Glass 6, but only at the front. The same goes for the Galaxy S20 and S20+, which use Gorilla Glass 5 at the back like the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10.
Gorilla Glass 6 is up to two times more durable than Gorilla Glass 5 and can survive more drops and from higher heights. Corning's official tests claim it can survive up to 15 drops from a one meter height, though the scratch resistance remains the same as Gorilla Glass 5 so the Galaxy S20 Ultra will stick pick up marks on the back if you use it without a case.
Of course, we wouldn't recommend using the Galaxy S20 Ultra without a case considering how expensive it is. It is priced at $1399 for the base variant, which has 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and $1549 for the variant with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. But it does justify the price tag based on our initial impressions, which you can read about here.
