Although Samsung mentioned on its Galaxy Ring's product webpage that Energy Score and Galaxy AI-powered health tips only work with Galaxy AI-equipped smartphones, it turns out you don't need a Samsung phone at all. According to a report from Android Police, the Galaxy Ring's Energy Score and Galaxy AI-powered health tips worked perfectly fine with the Motorola Razr Plus.
Apparently, the Energy Score started working from the first day of using the Galaxy Ring, while the Galaxy AI-powered health tips also started working after a few days. So, if you have a non-Samsung phone but are interested in using the Galaxy Ring, you can get the smart ring without any worries.
The Galaxy Ring uses titanium on the exterior, while its interiors are filled with sensors, including an accelerometer, gyro, heart rate sensor, blood oxygen measurement sensor, and skin temperature sensor. It can measure your activities (like daily steps and runs), sleep duration and quality, blood oxygen levels, and skin temperature to offer you a complete view of your fitness and wellness.
The smart ring is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance. It comes in different sizes and three finishes (gold, silver, and black). Its battery lasts at least six days for the smaller sizes and more for the bigger ones. It comes with a charging case that can charge the Galaxy Ring several times before it needs recharging. It needs the Samsung Health app to work.
Rumors also claim that Samsung is looking to make the Galaxy Ring compatible with iPhones in the future.
