Galaxy Note 20’s 4G and 5G variants get May 2023 security update

Samsung has released the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy Note 20 series. The new security update is available for LTE and 5G versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra in some Latin American countries and could expand to more countries worldwide soon.

The LTE versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra comes with firmware version N98xFXXS6HWE1 in Chile, Guatemala, Panama, Peru, Mexico, and Trinidad & Tobago. The 5G versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra got bumped up their firmware versions to N98xBXXS6HWE2 in Brazil.

What's new with Galaxy Note 20 May 2023 security update?

Samsung had revealed that its May 2023 security patch fixes over 70 security flaws found in Galaxy smartphones and tablets, including the ones in the kernel and Exynos modems. The update might also bring some general bug fixes and device stability improvements.

If you have a Galaxy Note 20 series phone and if you live in any of the countries listed above, you can download the latest firmware by heading over to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually
