Right after the Galaxy S23 launch event, Samsung has gone back to work on new software updates for its smartphones, tablets, and wearables. The company has released the February 2023 security update, and the Galaxy Note 20 series is getting first dibs on the new software update.

The latest software update for the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is rolling out in Switzerland. It comes with firmware version N98xBXXS5GWB1 and brings the February 2023 security patch. While Samsung hasn't released its detailed changelog for the new security patch, we are sure it brings fixes for dozens of security vulnerabilities and loopholes. The update could expand to Galaxy Note 20 series units in other European countries within the next few days.

If you are a Galaxy Note 20 or Galaxy Note 20 Ultra user in Switzerland, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. The update can also be installed by downloading the new firmware from our firmware database and flashing it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 series in mid-2020 with Android 10 onboard. The smartphones received the Android 11 update in early 2021, the Android 12 update in late 2021, and the Android 13 update in late 2022. The smartphones in the lineup won't get new Android OS updates in the future but will continue to get security updates.
