Almost all network carriers in the US have started rolling out the September 2021 security update to the Galaxy Note 20 series. The international versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra had received the same security patch last week.

The Galaxy Note 20 is getting the new security update with firmware version N981USQS2DUH3 or N981USQS2DUH4, depending on the carrier. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has started getting the update with firmware version N986U1UES2DUH3. Last week, Samsung had revealed that the September 2021 security patch fixes more than 50 vulnerabilities related to privacy and security.

Some One UI 3.1.1 features like the Bedtime Mode quick setting toggle, a more responsive camera app, faster pop-up menus, better thermal management, and slightly improved stock apps may be a part of the update as well.

If you are a Galaxy Note 20 or Galaxy Note 20 Ultra user on any US carrier mentioned above, you might have already received the new update. You can check for the update manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file for your smartphone from our firmware database and flash it manually.
