Samsung has released a new software update to the company’s entry-level M-series smartphone from around two years ago, the Galaxy M04. It brings the July 2024 security patch to the phone that contains fixes for 58 security vulnerabilities.
At the moment, the company is rolling out the new software update to the international variant of the smartphone, which has the model number SM-M045F, in India. The software update carries firmware version M045FXXS8EXF2.
You might already know the process of downloading and installing a software update on your Galaxy M04. If you aren’t, it is very simple.
Just tap on the notification that the phone sends you about the update and click on the Download and install button.
If it doesn’t send you an alert in the next few days, just head to Settings » Software update » Download and install.
Back in June, Samsung released Android 14-based One UI 6.1 to the Galaxy M04. It brought many new features to the smartphone that you can check out here.
Unfortunately, the company will not release major software updates to the smartphone anymore, including Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 or Android 15-based One UI 7.0 as the brand has already offered the two promised OS upgrades to the device.
The story continues after the video…
The tech giant will, however, keep offering security updates to the Galaxy M04 for at least next three years. Currently, the phone is on a quarterly security update schedule, which means that it will get one security update every quarter.
If you are looking to upgrade to a newer phone that costs around the same money as your current device, you should consider the Galaxy A05s. Click on the link below to get the best deal on it.
