Samsung began testing the Portuguese version of Bixby in Brazil a couple of months ago using the Galaxy S10 series as its testing platform. The first public build was later made available for the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series, but in the meantime, the Galaxy Fold started gaining traction in the country. Samsung's first foldable phone was sold out in Brazil on the first day on the market, despite the high $3,000 price.
Even though the Galaxy Fold was released in limited quantities, it still is the company's most expensive and ambitious mobile device sold in Brazil. Having said that, it's great to see that people who have spent around $3,000 for the privilege of owning the Galaxy Fold will have their user experiences improved with a better virtual assistant.
The Galaxy Fold is a smartphone that excels not only for its innovative design but also for the quality of its solutions. By introducing the Portuguese version of Bixby, we provide people with improved interactivity with the Galaxy Fold […] revealed Bruno Costa, senior manager of content and services for mobile devices at Samsung Brazil.
The good news continues as Portuguese support to Bixby won't remain limited to last year's S10, Note 10, and Galaxy Fold models. Indeed, Samsung also confirmed that the feature will be released for the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite, but didn't reveal any exact details as to when this might happen. We'll keep you posted as soon as we learn more. In the meantime, let us know how often you use Bixby, and whether or not you have access to a localized version in your country.
