A few days ago, Samsung released the December 2022 security update to the Galaxy A53 in the US. Now, the update is reaching other markets, including Asian and European countries. We are less than a week from the end of 2022, and Samsung has released the new security update just in time.

The latest Galaxy A53 5G software update is rolling out in Europe with firmware version A536BXXU4BVL2. The update brings the December 2022 security patch that fixes nearly 100 security vulnerabilities. It might also include general bug fixes and stability improvements. The update is currently available in Austria, Croatia, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the UK.

In Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, the Galaxy A53 is getting the December 2022 security patch with firmware version A536EXXU4BVL3.

If you own a Galaxy A53 and live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can download the new update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. Alternatively, you can use the manual firmware flashing method. To do that, you should first download the new firmware file from our firmware database.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 5G alongside the Galaxy A33 5G and the Galaxy A73 5G earlier this year with Android 12 onboard. The Galaxy A53 5G received the Android 13 update a few weeks ago. It will get three more Android OS updates in the future.
