Last week, Samsung released the July 2022 security update to the South Korean version of the Galaxy A53 5G. Now, the update has been released to the US variant of the Galaxy A53 (SM-A536U1). The update is currently available on AT&T's network, but other networks will get the update soon.

The latest software update for the Galaxy A53 5G's unlocked version comes with firmware version A536U1UES2AVF1 in the US. It brings the July 2022 security patch that promises to fix over 50 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. The update could also bring general bug fixes and device stability improvements.

If you live in the US and have a Galaxy A53 5G, you can install the newest software update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our database and flash it manually.

Samsung debuted the Galaxy A53 5G alongside the Galaxy A33 5G and the Galaxy A73 5G earlier this year. The smartphone came running Android 12-based One UI 4.1 out of the box. It will get four major Android OS updates and up to five years of security updates.
