Last year’s Android 14-based One UI 6.1 update was the last OS upgrade for the Galaxy A52 5G. However, the device is eligible for one more year of security updates, and today, it is getting one, the January 2025 security patch.
Among the many variants of the Galaxy A52, Samsung is offering the latest software update to only one, the one that it sells in Europe and the Middle East. It has the model number SM-A526B. It carries firmware version A526BXXSBGYA3.
To get the latest update, you have to follow the same steps that you have been following to get updates till now. That is, either click on the notification about the update you might have received and tap on the Download and install button, or go to Settings » Software update » Download and install.
We have made the new firmware available in our database. You can download it from here, then use the Odin software on a Windows PC to install it on your Galaxy A52. However, this method is more risky than the OTA update and it could brick your device. So, back up your data before proceeding with this method.
If you want to use Android 15-based One UI 7.0, you will have to upgrade to a newer Galaxy smartphone. If you want to buy one that costs close to the price of your existing device, you should take a look at the Galaxy A55. If you are looking for a high-end phone, you won't go wrong with the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
