The One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy A14 5G comes with firmware version A146PXXU2BWD1. Apart from One UI 5.1, the new update also brings the April 2023 security patch to the smartphone, which aims to fix over 60 vulnerabilities found in Galaxy smartphones. Those security flaws also include the critical ones found in Exynos processors. The One UI 5.1 update that was released in India and Sri Lanka had the March 2023 security patch.
If you are a Galaxy A14 5G user in Malaysia, you can now download the One UI 5.1 update on your smartphone by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also choose the manual firmware flashing method. However, to do that, you need a Windows PC, the Samsung Odin tool, and the latest firmware file from our firmware database.
The One UI 5.1 update brings the ability to view and edit EXIF information of images and videos in the stock Gallery app. Just swipe an image or video up to view that information. You can easily maximize or minimize an app window by dragging one of its app window corners. When you start split-screen multitasking, the phone shows you the most frequently used apps first.
The Modes And Routines app now gives you the option to change the home screen wallpaper based on your chosen Mode. It has more actions and conditions, including font style, Quick Share, ringtone, and touch sensitivity. The Weather app now displays all the important information in first glance and shows an hourly precipitation graph. It also has a new ‘Dynamic Weather' widget.
Samsung Internet now searches for a search term commonly between bookmarks and browsing history. There is a new battery widget that displays the battery charge levels of the phone and its connected devices. The Settings app now displays search suggestions.
