Last month, Samsung released the stable version of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A36. While the update came out in May, it didn’t pack the May 2026 security patch. Instead, it had a month-old security update, the April 2026 security patch, as is the case with the brand’s major software updates for phones.
As we enter June, Samsung has released the May 2026 security patch for the Galaxy A36. While we can confirm that the brand is rolling it out in India, it may have released the update in other countries as well. The update is 432.82MB in size and carries firmware version A366EXXSACZE3 (via @KAILASH61229293)
The May 2026 security patch fixes 36 security issues in the previous firmware, which makes the phone more secure than before. To get it, you will have to navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Speaking of software updates for the Galaxy A36, the phone is eligible to get Samsung’s next Android customisation for Galaxy smartphones, One UI 9.0. You can check out the upgrades it brings in our video below.
