As we approach the end of the month, Samsung is shifting its focus from newer and high-end devices to older and more affordable devices for rolling out the May 2024 security patch. Today, the company has released the latest security update to the Galaxy S21 FE.
At the moment, Samsung is pushing the May 2024 security patch to the carrier-locked and the carrier-unlocked variants of the Galaxy S21 FE in the United States. The update that brings the latest security update changes the firmware version of the former to G990USQSBGXE1 and that of the latter to G990U1UESBGXE1. The May 2024 security patch fixes 45 security issues.
The easiest way to get the May 2024 security patch on your Galaxy S21 FE is by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. The second way is to download the firmware file (available in our database) and install it manually using Odin. We recommend you backup your data on the phone before installing the update, especially if you are taking the second approach.
