The new software update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with firmware version F721USQU1BVL9 in the US. The update, which brings the December 2022 security patch, is available on Comcast's and Xfinity Mobile's networks. The carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the US is getting the update with firmware version F936USQU1BVL7 on Comcast's and Xfinity Mobile's networks.

The December 2022 security patch fixes close to 100 security vulnerabilities. It doesn't bring any new features to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4, but it might include reliability and stability improvements. To update your phone, head over to Settings » Software update and tap on Download and install.

Both smartphones were launched a few months ago with Android 12-based One UI 4.1.1 onboard. Samsung released the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update to the two devices a few weeks ago. They are eligible to receive three more Android OS updates, which will arrive in the future.
