Samsung is bringing members of the K-pop band BTS to the UK; not in person but through XR (cross reality) technology, the Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition, and its lifestyle TV The Sero. Using these technologies combined, the company has created an XR zone at Samsung KX, London's Coal Drops Yard, where visitors can capture videos and virtual selfies with members of BTS.

Samsung's collaboration with the K-pop band BTS began earlier this year when the company released the Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition alongside the purple Galaxy Buds+ BTS Edition. The partnership has greatly helped Samsung put the Galaxy S20 series on the map on numerous social media platforms, and BTS continued to be involved in other promos including a Galaxy Z Fold 2 unboxing and first reaction video.

Taking a selfie with your favorite BTS member

It's not the best time to attend concerts and chances of getting a selfie with a celebrity in the current pandemic climate are virtually non existent. But fans of BTS who happen to visit Samsung KX in London can take an XR selfie with the K-pop band's members in an augmented/cross reality environment set up by Samsung.

The AR/XR area is equipped with The Sero as a preview screen and the Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition as the shooting device. Visitors can capture personalized videos with the XR BTS members and they can also take home a printed selfie.

The BTS Edition bundle was released in the UK on July 9 after a pre-order period of a couple of weeks. The Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition continues to be sold online by Samsung UK for £1,049. The company released The Sero in the UK at the beginning of June and the TV is presently available online for £1,599.
