Best Galaxy A34 5G features that make the phone stand apart

Samsung seems to have outdone itself with the release of the low-cost Galaxy A34 5G. The new model for 2023 reflects a pivotal change in Samsung's philosophy for the mobile market, and the A34 5G is more than just a yearly rehash with slight hardware improvement over its predecessor.

Those hardware improvements are still there, but the Galaxy A34 5G also introduces several substantial upgrades borrowed from costlier phones. They should all add more value and contribute to a better user experience. So without further delay, here are some of the best Galaxy A34 5G features.

A better AMOLED display that borrows premium tech

The Galaxy A34 5G has a bigger 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a faster refresh rate of 120Hz. But more than that, this new panel has other core improvements beyond size and speed.

The 6.6-inch panel is SGS-certified for eyecare thanks to its significant reduction in blue light emissions, which are now lower than 6.5% — down from 12.5% from last year's model.

And now, the Galaxy A34 5G panel has Vision Booster technology, which, as you might recall, debuted with the Galaxy S22 series last year. For the Galaxy A34 5G, Vision Booster increases the brightness to 1,000 nits in HBM (high brightness mode). The technology also helps the display render colors more accurately in varying lighting conditions by adapting more efficiently to the environment's brightness levels.

Galaxy A34 5G has more advanced camera features

Pixel count and such details aside, the Galaxy A34 5G improves the camera experience through features like Auto Night mode, or what Samsung calls “No Shake Night Mode.” This feature leverages OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and VDIS (Video Digital Image Stabilization) to help you capture stable photos and videos.

Samsung improved OIS through a wider 1.5-degree angle (up from 0.95 degrees), which should allow the Galaxy A34 5G camera to take improved photos with less blur, even at night.

Furthermore, the Galaxy A34 5G camera has auto-framing capabilities to automatically adjust the angle of view and zoom in on up to 5 people during video recording.

And to top it all off, the Galaxy A34 5G benefits from better camera AI and enhanced editing tools that let users remove unwanted shadows and reflections — a first for the Galaxy A3x series.

An improved voice and video calling experience

The audio side of things was also enhanced on the Galaxy A34 5G, thanks to the addition of Voice Focus technology. Voice Focus can separate the user's voice from background noise during voice and video calls.

The Galaxy A34 5G doesn't have a 3.5mm port but has stereo speakers and now boasts Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, which should consume less energy when using wireless earbuds.

A modern design with decent build quality

Although the Galaxy A34 5G still uses a somewhat outdated notch design — Infinity-U — it otherwise follows Samsung's 2023 design language and thus features a slightly rounded frame, a flat display, and a flat back panel with individual cutouts for each rear-facing camera. Just like the Galaxy S23.

The phone looks modern and has decent build quality with an IP67 rating, which should make it resistant to dust and accidental water spills. Thanks to this IP67 rating, the Galaxy A34 5G should be able to survive at depths of up to 1 meter of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.

Samsung guarantees four Android OS upgrades

In terms of the number of Android OS upgrades it receives over its lifetime, the Galaxy A34 5G will get the same treatment as Samsung's most expensive smartphones. Again, similar to the Galaxy S23 and other high-end devices.

Samsung guarantees four Android OS upgrades for the Galaxy A34 5G, and the phone ships with Android 13 and One UI 5.1, which means it will eventually receive Android 17. In addition, Samsung will support the A34 5G with at least five years of security updates.

This one case can make your Galaxy A34 look timeless

This one case can make your Galaxy A34 look timeless

Nearly every Samsung phone has an Infinity-O display nowadays. The Infinity-V cutout is barely getting used, and even lower-cost Galaxy A phones, such as the new Galaxy A35, have transitioned from Infinity-U to the superior Infinity-O design. The Infinity-O screen alone might not be a good-enough reason for Galaxy A34 owners to upgrade to the […]

The same phone also brought various improvements to the display, both through hardware and the inclusion […]
