Android 16 brings several new features, and one of them is Advanced Protection. It offers a single touch to turn on multiple security measures to keep a device safe. Fortunately for Samsung smartphone and tablet users, the South Korean tech giant has implemented that feature in One UI 8.0.

The latest beta version of One UI 8.0 for the Galaxy S25 includes Android 16’s Advanced Protection feature (spotted by Android Authority). You can find it by heading over to Settings » Google » All Services » Advanced Protection. Turning it on implements nine security features that you can see in our screenshot below.

Whats does Advanced Protection in Android 16 (One UI 8) do?

First, Advanced Protection turns on Inactivity Reboot, which restarts your device if it remains locked for three days continuously. Then, it utilises Google Play Protect to scan for unsafe apps and malware. It also blocks you from installing apps from unknown and unreliable sources. The also stops a device from connecting to 2G networks, as they are less secure than more modern networks.

Advanced Protection uses Android Safe Browsing to block harmful web pages in real time. The feature also warns you before loading non-HTTPS websites. It turns off some advanced Javascript capabilities to reduce the risk. It also filters spams and warns you of scams. This advanced security feature warns you about links from unknown senders.

Advanced Protection is similar to Samsung’s Auto Blocker in many ways. The latter blocks you from installing apps from unknown sources, blocks commands sent via a USB cable, blocks malware images in messaging apps, and block non-official software updates. The latter, with its additional features, further enhances the device’s security.
