The Galaxy S26 Ultra moves toward a more proactive style of Galaxy AI[5]. Instead of waiting for you to ask for help, the phone anticipates what you might need and acts on it, whether that's organizing your morning schedule, shielding your screen from people sitting next to you, or surfacing photos a friend just asked you to share.

Here are five key AI-driven features that define the experience on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

A summary of some of the key AI features

  • Photo Assist[1]: A completely revamped editing suite that now lets you change entire scenes using voice and text prompts.
  • Notification Highlights: AI-powered summaries that condense long notifications and prioritize the ones you check most often.
  • Now Brief:[2] An essential daily summary that brings your weather, calendar, and health data into one glanceable report.
  • Creative Studio[3]: A generative AI tool that creates stickers, wallpapers, greeting cards, invitations, and more from text prompts.
  • Audio Eraser:[4] A real-time noise removal tool that now works while watching videos in apps like YouTube, Netflix, and Instagram.

How has Photo Assist been revamped?

In One UI 8.5, Samsung has transformed Photo Assist from a basic object remover into a full editing suite. You still have the AI eraser to remove unwanted objects or photobombers, but it now includes a history feature that lets you step back through your edits if you change your mind.

For those who prefer extra privacy, a new toggle allows you to process object removal entirely on the device.

The biggest addition is the Create tab, which uses generative AI to let you redesign a photo with voice and text prompts. For example, you can tell the phone to “make this a nighttime scene,” and the AI will adjust the entire image—not just the sky—to look natural.

You can also use the Style tool to turn your photos into different art forms, such as a 3D cartoon, a comic, or even a clay figurine.

What are AI notification summaries on the Galaxy S26 Ultra?

Notification summaries are part of the Notification Highlights feature in One UI 8.5. When a notification is long or comes from a busy group chat, Galaxy AI automatically condenses it into a shorter, easier-to-read version in your notification panel.

The summary only shows when the notification is collapsed — you can expand it for the full original message. The feature works automatically without any setup and steps in when it would be useful.

How does Now Brief organize your day?

Now Brief remains a core part of the Galaxy experience, acting as a central hub for your daily information. Instead of checking multiple apps, you can look at one summary that aggregates your upcoming appointments, the weather, and your energy score from Samsung Health[6].

On the Galaxy S26 Ultra, this briefing is even more personalized. It ensures the most relevant information is ready for you the moment you pick up your phone in the morning.

What is Creative Studio on the Galaxy S26 Ultra?

Creative Studio is a standalone Galaxy AI tool that generates images from text prompts. It supports a range of formats — stickers, wallpapers, greeting cards, profile cards, and invitations — and lets you create original visuals directly on the device without needing a separate app or service.

To use it, open Creative Studio from your app drawer, choose a template type, and describe what you want. You can also mix hand-drawn sketches, existing photos, and text prompts together. On the Galaxy S26 Ultra, you can access Creative Studio directly from Samsung Notes, so you can generate a sticker or card and embed it in a note without switching apps.

What is Audio Eraser on the Galaxy S26 Ultra?

Audio Eraser has been on Galaxy phones since the Galaxy S25 series, where it let you remove unwanted background noise from videos you had recorded. Samsung has significantly expanded it on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

With One UI 8.5, Audio Eraser now works in real time while you are watching videos in third-party apps. While a video is playing on YouTube, Netflix, Instagram, TikTok, or other supported apps, you can swipe down to the Quick Panel and turn it on without leaving the app.

There is a noise reduction slider and a Voice Focus toggle that boosts dialogue over background noise. Everything is processed on the device in real time.

It is useful in situations where background noise in a video is making it hard to follow, whether it’s a concert clip where the crowd drowns out the music or a sports video where you just want to hear the commentary.

Previously, Audio Eraser only worked on videos you had recorded yourself, so this expansion to streaming and social apps makes it a much more practical everyday tool.
