Samsung's foldable phones are gaining more traction every year. In the first three quarters of 2022, the company shipped 16 million foldable phones worldwide — a 73% year-on-year increase. Consumers and enterprises are buying more foldable phones than ever. And while the Galaxy Z Fold 4 appears to be a favorite among business users, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has just been named “Product of the year” in Belgium.

It's a huge milestone because the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has made Samsung the first electronics company to win this award. Indeed, the Product of the Year award in Belgium is usually reserved for products that have a short shelf life and a fast turnover, such as soft drinks and cosmetic products.

In addition, this is a pretty big win for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 because the “Product of the year” logo is highly recognizable among Belgian consumers. This badge has helped customers since 1987, and according to surveys cited by Samsung, almost half of consumers believe that the logo helps them make the right choice when buying a product.

The people have spoken, and they love the Galaxy Z Flip 4

The way the award works is by submissions from brands and distributors. The submissions are judged by consumers who test the products first-hand. They look at different criteria, including innovation, attractiveness, and ease of use. The judges test these products in their living environments for the most realistic and accurate results.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 attracts through its compact foldable form factor, stylish design, and robust hinge, which enables features such as Flex Mode. It's as powerful as any other flagship– albeit it doesn't have Samsung DeX — and sports the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset in every region. Samsung recently updated it to Android 13 and One UI 5.0. The update brings more cohesiveness to the user experience, better multitasking through multi-window gestures, and improved performance.

In Belgium, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 with 128GB of storage is available for €1,099. It's available in four color options, but customers can pay extra to mix and match a wider variety of colors through the Bespoke Edition.
