MediaTek is finally all set to unveil its flagship Dimensity processor for 2023 at an event in China. On November 8, the Taiwanese chip firm will take the wraps off its Dimensity 9200 processor, which has been making the rounds in the rumor mill for quite some time now. An AnTuTu benchmark surfaced last week, showing its performance scores.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 scored over 1.26 million points. This is massive because there are only minor upgrades to the CPU. The Dimensity 9200 will come with ARM's new Mali-G715 Immortalis GPU compared to the Mali-G710 GPU in the Dimensity 9000+, which scored 550,000 higher than its predecessor.

MediaTek Dimensity 9200 even beats Apple A16 Bionic's GPU performance

Popular leakster IceUniverse posted the benchmark scores for the Mali-G715 MC11 GPU. It attained 328fps in the Manhattan ES 3.0 1080p offscreen test and 228fps in the Manhattan ES 3.1 1080p benchmark test. Its performance is on par with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which will power most of the 2023 Android flagships, including Samsung's Galaxy S23. Better yet, the Dimensity 9200 goes on to beat the GPU performance of the Apple A16 Bionic, which is insane.

Furthermore, rumors claim that the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 will use a triple-cluster CPU architecture, featuring one ARM Cortex-X3 CPU core clocked at 3.05GHz, three Cortex-A715 CPU cores clocked at 2.85GHz, and four Cortex-A510 CPU cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It will be interesting to see MediaTek's event because it will be a week earlier than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC launch. Qualcomm will unveil its next-gen flagship processor at the Snapdragon Summit from November 15-17.

While Samsung won't be using the Dimensity 9200 processor in any of its flagship phones, it will bring some performance boost to phones from other brands that are offered at a comparatively lower price than Samsung's.
