Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7. It brings the October 2026 security patch, which fixes 62 security issues, making the two phones more secure than before. This is the first software update for the two devices after the brand rolled out the stable version of One UI 9.0 (Android 17) to them.
While Samsung usually releases a new update for a phone first in its home country, South Korea, the company is taking a different approach in this case. The tech giant is rolling out the updates for the two phones globally from day one. The one for the book-style foldable carries firmware version F966BXXSDCZJ1, and the one for the clamshell foldable carries version F766BXXSDCZJ1.
Samsung should release the October 2026 security patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in other countries over the next few days. You can get it by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
If you haven't gotten a chance to explore One UI 9.0 yet, you should check out our video below, where we demonstrate the new software, giving you an idea of what new features you can use in your day-to-day usage.
