We have been hearing about Samsung’s next custom Android interface, One UI 9.5, since even before the brand unveiled its latest skin for Galaxy smartphones and tablets, One UI 9.0. Now, almost five months after the first signs of its existence emerged, the company has officially mentioned One UI 9.5 for the first time.
Samsung has released a new update for the Nearby Device Scanning app for its phones and tablets (via Kailash). Carrying version 11.1.24.8, it brings three changes. In the changelog, the tech giant mentions “One UI 9.5 updates,” marking the first time Samsung has officially referred to the upcoming software version for its Galaxy devices.
It is unclear what Samsung means by “One UI 9.5 updates.” We assume the company means that this release adds support for the upcoming software to the Nearby Device Scanning app. The brand typically begins adding support for an upcoming One UI version to its apps once development has progressed significantly.
In other words, One UI 9.5 may not be too far away. However, Samsung has not revealed any details about the software or announced when it plans to release it.
The other two changes included in the latest Nearby Device Scanning update are “Support quickpair popup for new devices” and “Bug fixes and stability.” You can download the latest update by going to Galaxy Store > Menu > Updates on your Galaxy device.
