Samsung Galaxy S26 Running One UI 9.0 (Android 17) - Source: Max Jambor / SamMobile
Earlier today, Samsung began rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) update to Galaxy smartphones, though the release is currently limited to newer and high-end devices, with many smartphones still in the queue.
Days before the One UI 8.5 rollout began, One UI 9.0 — Samsung's next Android customization for Galaxy devices — had already leaked. And now, before people have had a chance to fully explore One UI 9.0, there's already a surprise: the first news about One UI 9.5 has surfaced.
On X, Erencan Yılmaz claims that Samsung has already begun developing One UI 9.5. According to him, it is based on Android 17, and the brand's next lineup of flagship smartphones with non-foldable displays, the Galaxy S27 series, will come with it.

To support the claim, he shared an image of what appears to be a code snippet referencing multiple One UI versions, including 9.5. This marks the first time One UI 9.5 has been mentioned. If accurate, it signals the very beginning of what could be a long leak cycle for the software.
As of now, there's no information on what One UI 9.5 will actually bring to the table. That said, if Samsung's software history is anything to go by, users can likely expect a cleaner, more modern, and more consistent interface with greater customization options. A host of new features — including expanded Galaxy AI capabilities — could also be on the cards. Hopefully, we will get to know more in the next few days.
