Samsung is killing off SmartThings’ Tracker service next month

Samsung has issued a notice in the SmartThings app for Android and iOS informing users that it will discontinue the “Tracker service” on October 31, 2026.

As a result, starting November 1, 2026, “Tracker service features, such as location checking and notifications for Tracker devices, will no longer be available,” the brand says.

Based on the announcement, one feature each in the Android and iOS versions of the SmartThings app will be affected.

Starting with the SmartThings app for Android, users will not be able to track Samsung SmartTag devices through the app from November 1, 2026. Instead, they will need to use the Samsung Find app to track their SmartTag devices.

On the SmartThings app for iOS, the option to search for unknown trackers nearby will no longer be available from November 1, 2026.
