Galaxy Z Flip 7 gets first One UI 9 beta update

The One UI 9.0 beta program is now expanding to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 as well. Samsung has released the first One UI 9 beta update for its 2025 flagship clamshell in South Korea shortly after releasing it to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The beta program could go live in other eligible countries within the next few hours.

Based on Android 17, One UI 9 is the first major OS upgrade for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. It launched running One UI 8 (Android 16) out of the box in July 2025 and could get the stable One UI 9.0 update in the next few weeks once the beta-testing is complete.

If you live in South Korea and have a Galaxy Z Flip 7, you can participate in the One UI 9.0 Beta Program. However, you must understand that it is beta software and will likely have a lot of bugs, performance hiccups, and stability issues. So, don't participate in the beta program if your Galaxy Z Flip 7 is your primary device.

To enroll your Galaxy Z Flip 7 in the One UI 9.0 beta program, install the Samsung Members app on your phone, log into the app using the same Samsung account that is tied to your phone, tap the One UI 9.0 Beta Program banner, and follow on-screen instructions.

Once the phone is enrolled into the beta program, open the Settings app, navigate to Software update, and tap Check for updates. After the update file is downloaded on the phone, tap the Restart button once the phone asks you to. Make sure to have at least 30% battery charge left in your phone to proceed with the installation process.
