Samsung Display unveiled some groundbreaking new OLED technologies at the ongoing IMID 2026 expo today. Besides its new 7.6-inch foldable OLED panel with a wider viewing angle, the company also showcased a 16-inch OLED panel with a 300Hz refresh rate for laptops.
The South Korean firm highlighted a 16-inch OLED panel that features a 2.5K resolution and up to a 300Hz variable refresh rate. It has a 16:9 aspect ratio, making it ideal for high-end gaming laptops. It is the world's first laptop OLED panel to reach such a high refresh rate and could be adopted in future gaming laptops from several major brands.
The company did not reveal further details about the panel, so its peak and typical brightness levels remain under wraps, though HDR compatibility is expected. As an OLED panel, it will offer perfect inky blacks, pixel-level backlight control, and an infinite contrast ratio.

Samsung additionally showcased 31.5-inch QD-OLED and 34-inch ultrawide QD-OLED panels designed for gaming monitors. The 31.5-inch panel packs a 4K resolution alongside a 360Hz variable refresh rate, while the 34-inch panel features a 21:9 aspect ratio and a matching 360Hz variable refresh rate.

Other futuristic OLED panel concepts showcased during the expo in Busan, South Korea, include a 6.9-inch Humanoid Display equipped with eye-tracking capabilities for robotics use cases. Samsung also displayed an AI OLED Pendant, a wearable necklace-type panel, alongside an analog-style OLED turntable.
