Samsung's flagship tablet for the year 2026 will be the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. It will succeed the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and will largely focus on bringing performance and software improvements.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to feature a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with 1848 x 2960 pixels resolution, up to a 120Hz variable refresh rate, and up to 1,600 nits peak brightness. It could support HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG. It could have an anti-reflective panel to reduce glare and reflections and an in-display fingerprint reader.

It will likely come bundled with an S Pen stylus for drawing and writing. The stylus could support pressure (up to 4,096 levels) and tilt sensitivity.
The tablet could have an extremely thin design with Armor Aluminum unibody frame. The tablet and its S Pen could have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has a 12MP ultrawide front-facing camera. On the rear, it has a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera. All three cameras may be able to record 4K 30fps videos.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor is the heart of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra's performance. It is helped by 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB internal storage. It has a microSD card slot as well for storage expansion (up to 2TB).
It could have 5G (in cellular models), Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth, and a 5Gbps USB 3.2 Type-C port.
Samsung will launch the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra with Android 17 and One UI 9.0 onboard. The device could get seven major Android OS upgrades. It will get security patches for up to seven years.
With Samsung Notes and the S Pen stylus, it can double up as a drawing tablet or a digital note-taking machine. It could be a great device for artists and students.
Thanks to its powerful Dimensity 9500 processor, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra could offer several advanced Galaxy AI features, such as Audio Eraser, Browsing Assist, Call Assist, Creative Studio, Health Assist, Interpreter, Note Assist, Notification Highlights, Now Brief, Now Nudge, Photo Assist, Transcript Assist, and Weather Wallpaper. It could also support Gemini Intelligence for advanced automations.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is powered by a 11,600mAh battery and supports 45W fast wired charging. It could last 23 hours or more on a single charge when playing HD videos offline when the device is connected to wireless earphones.
Samsung could announce the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra in September 2026. The tablet could become available for pre-order on the same day as its announcement in select countries and reach store shelves in the same month.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra could be priced higher than the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. It could cost $1,400 for the 256GB version, with 512GB and 1TB versions costing even higher.
