TL;DR

  • The Samsung Keyboard orange dot is a One UI “what’s new” indicator, not a bug, and it goes away after you open the new sticker style menu.
  • To clear it, tap the emoji button, then Galaxy AI, the + button, scroll right, and tap View all.
  • If prompted, accept the Galaxy Studio terms first; if the dot remains, another keyboard update prompt may still be unread.

One UI does a good job of highlighting new features added through OS and Samsung app updates. Whenever something new is available, you'll usually spot a small orange dot next to the relevant menu or feature.

Normally, those dots disappear as soon as you check out what's new. But Samsung Keyboard has one orange dot that has confused countless Galaxy users because it seems impossible to get rid of.

The good news is that it isn't a bug. The dot disappears once you know where to look. Here's where to find it.

How to remove the Samsung Keyboard emoji dot

If you're experiencing this Samsung Keyboard annoyance, it's most likely because you haven't opened Samsung's latest sticker style menu yet.

Unlike most “what's new” prompts in One UI, this one isn't cleared by one tap. You have to dig a little deeper and do some extra menu diving.

Here's what you have to do step-by-step. You can also watch our screen recording below for a quick “live” demonstration as we make that pesky orange dot go away.

  • Tap the emoji button in the Samsung Keyboard toolbar.
  • Tap the Galaxy AI button, then the large + button.
  • Scroll all the way to the right.
  • Tap View all.

Note: After tapping +, you may first be asked to accept the Galaxy Studio terms and conditions before you can proceed.

That's it. The orange dot should now be gone. If it isn't, you probably have another “what's new” indicator waiting elsewhere in Samsung Keyboard. However, the emoji button is by far the one that trips up the most users, so chances are you'll find this useful.
