Samsung Galaxy Glasses: Everything you need to know

Intelligent Eyewear smart glasses are co-developed by Samsung and Google. Samsung designed the hardware internals and overall layout, while Google contributed the software, including the Android XR operating system and Gemini AI assistant. The glasses can help with several tasks and are available in various styles from eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

Samsung showcased three designs for its first AI glasses in collaboration with fashion eyewear partners Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. Both brands offer everyday-wear designs with rounded rectangular and oval shapes. Gentle Monster also has a more fashion-forward option with a thick oval frame and a subtle cat-eye look inspired by Y2K fashion trends.

All versions of these smart glasses have speakers in their slightly thick temples and a power switch on the inside of one temple. The temples also have buttons on top and touch-sensitive surfaces on their outer sides. You can take a photo or video by quickly pressing a button, and control the smart glasses through a mix of voice commands, taps, and swipes on the touch-sensitive area.

The glasses have metal contacts below the bridge for charging the battery. You can charge the glasses by placing them inside the bundled carrying case.

Intelligent Eyewear, co-developed by Samsung and Google, runs the Android XR operating system and is built with Gemini in mind. The glasses can be paired with an Android or iOS smartphone.

With the help of Gemini Intelligence and advanced automation, these smart glasses can answer general questions, help with navigation, handle calls, play music, capture photos and videos, take and summarize meeting notes, and order a cab or food. Samsung's smart glasses use Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor. Most of the processing happens on a paired smartphone, which can be an Android phone or an iPhone. The glasses have stereo speakers in their temples, microphones, and a 12MP front-facing, eye-level camera.

They feature Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless connectivity.

Samsung claims that its smart glasses can last up to nine hours of normal mixed use on a single charge.

The carrying case also doubles as a charger and provides up to seven full charges. A fully charged pair of glasses and the case could last nearly a week with moderate use before the case needs to be recharged. The case has a USB Type-C port for charging.

Samsung and its partners, Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, have not announced pricing for the Intelligent Eyewear AI smart glasses. They will be available for purchase in select countries, including South Korea and the US, before the end of 2026.
