The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra represent the best of Samsung's foldable smartphone technology. Both phones have exceptionally thin and light bodies, the fastest mobile processors, and some of the brightest screens in Samsung's Galaxy lineup.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 has a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch foldable display. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra has a 6.5-inch cover display and an 8-inch inner foldable screen. The inner foldable screens on both phones can reach peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits, making them 15% brighter than the screens on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and even the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Both phones also feature an anti-reflective coating on their inner foldable screens, making content easier to see in direct sunlight and around bright light sources, such as lamps and bulbs.
Both phones use Dynamic AMOLED 2X (LTPO) panels with QHD+ resolution, variable refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz, and HDR10+ support. With peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits, their inner screens can offer impactful HDR performance when watching supported movies, TV shows, and other videos.
Samsung has also developed a new hinge system for its new phones' foldable screens. The company says its Flex Titanium system, which uses a titanium-alloy film and a titanium plate to make the screen more durable and appear flatter, reducing its crease visibility.
