Samsung, since the brand unveiled its latest Android skin for Galaxy smartphones, One UI 9.0 (Android 17), and released its beta version for the Galaxy S26 series, has begun developing the new software for many older phones. Now, the brand has started working on releasing it for two more devices, the Galaxy M34 and the Galaxy M36.
On Samsung’s server, new firmware files for the Galaxy M34 and the Galaxy M36 featuring One UI 9.0 have been spotted (via Tarun Vats). It suggests that the brand has started testing the new software for the two phones, and their release is now one step closer. However, we don’t have their version of either firmware yet.
One UI 9.0 offers more customisations for Quick Panel, new features for Game Booster, Samsung DeX, and Samsung Notes, and enhancements to many accessibility features. We have made a video highlighting the most important changes, which you can check out at the end of this article.
Samsung launched the Galaxy M34 and the Galaxy M36 with One UI 5 and One UI 7, respectively, and promised to offer the former with four major OS upgrades and the latter with six major OS upgrades. It means that for the Galaxy M34, One UI 9.0 will be the last major upgrade, whereas the Galaxy M36 will get four more major updates apart from One UI 9.0.
