When it rains, it pours. Samsung smartphones, after going months without receiving Google Play System updates in 2025, have been getting them at a rapid pace this year. Now, another Google Play System update is available for Galaxy devices.

The update weighs just 14MB. Interestingly, after installation, the Google Play System update field under Settings > About phone > Software information still shows 1 May 2026, just as it did with the previous three updates. You can check it out below.

It is available on our Galaxy S25 running One UI 8.5 in India. While these updates don’t come with a changelog, they usually offer bug fixes, performance improvements, new features, and security enhancements. You can check for a new Google Play System update in two ways.

First, by going to Settings > About phone > Software information > Google Play System. Second, navigate to Settings > Security and privacy > Updates  > Google Play System update. Once you see that an update is available, tap on Download and install to get it.
