On Samsung smartphones running One UI 8.5, there is now a new Google Play System update available. It is 2.9MB in size and has the same 1 May 2026 build date as before. We have received it on our Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy S23 in India.
There is a new Google Play System update for devices running on the beta version of One UI 9.0 as well, which, at the moment, are Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. It is 1.9MB in size and has the same 1 May 2026 build date as before (via KAILASH).
To get them, go to Settings > Security and privacy > Updates > Google Play system update. These are the seventh Google Play System updates for Samsung smartphones in the last three months.
While these updates usually don’t come with a changelog, they typically bring bug fixes, performance improvements, and new features related to Android OS and Google apps and services. So, it is always a good idea to get them.
