Even Samsung's own Galaxy S26 Ultra cases may not hit 25W wireless charging

We recently reported the controversy surrounding dbrand’s cases for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. They reportedly don’t support Samsung's advertised 25W ‘Super Fast Wireless Charging' technology. Now, dbrand claims the issue may not be limited to it cases or other third-party cases.

In a Reddit thread, a Galaxy S26 Ultra user said they contacted dbrand regarding its ‘Ghost' case not supporting their phone's 25W fast wireless charging speed. The company responded with a detailed explanation, which we covered earlier, but later added further clarification on the matter and brought Samsung's first-party cases in question.

dbrand says conducted its own tests on the phone following the complaints. It says it used Samsung’s official 45W Travel Adapter, 25W Magnetic Wireless Charger, and Samsung's first-party magnetic cases for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Those include the Silicone Magnet Case, Clear Magnet Case, Rugged Magnet Case, and Slim Magnet Case to evaluate the phone’s wireless fast charging performance.

Based on these tests, dbrand claims that the Galaxy S26 Ultra does not reach its advertised 25W mark, even with Samsung’s own accessories (read cases). Instead, the charging speed reportedly remains consistent at around 15W. It’s worth noting that these findings are based on dbrand’s internal testing and user reports, and have not been independently verified by us or anyone else yet.

In the comments, many people have pointed out that the Galaxy S26 Ultra displays Super Fast Wireless Charging on its screen when they used magnetic cases from brands like ESR and Spigen and wireless chargers from brands like Belkin.

At this point, it's not clear what's going on. We need more reports on the matter to get a clear idea of the issue. Until then, you may want to get a cheap case to protect the device temporarily.
