Samsung is expected to release a new One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series this week. The update could arrive as soon as today, and it could bring even more changes and improvements compared to what appeared in the leaked One UI 8.5 Beta 4 changelog yesterday.
It was recently revealed that the fourth One UI 8.5 Beta 4 update will bring an upgraded version of Bixby, powered by large language models (LLMs) and featuring Perplexity integration. It was also claimed that the update, which would arrive with firmware version ending ZZAB, could fix bugs related to AI Select, search history in the Phone app, and clipboard issues. However, it now appears that it will bring even more features, including Direct Voicemail and an updated version of kernel (6.6.98).
This upcoming software update will likely arrive with firmware version ending ZZAD in countries where the One UI 8.5 Beta Program is available.
Direct Voicemail is likely a feature similar to Apple's Live Voicemail feature that arrived on iPhones with iOS 17. With Samsung's feature, your Galaxy phone could take messages on your behalf from callers when you miss a voice call. A newer version of kernel could bring fluidity, performance, reliability, and security improvements.
