Samsung is said to be bringing a much-requested feature to the Galaxy S26 series. After bringing Qi2 Ready support to its high-end phones this year, the South Korean firm is reportedly bringing full-fledged Qi2 wireless charging to the Galaxy S26 series. It is also said to be launching its own Qi2 charger for its upcoming phones.
It is rumored that all three Galaxy S26 models will feature built-in magnets for full Qi2 wireless charging support. And WinFuture is now reporting that Samsung has developed a new Qi2 wireless charger that offers up to 25W fast wireless charging, which means it likely uses the Qi2.2 standard. The first-party accessory is called the Samsung Magnetic Wireless Charger and carries model number EP-P2900.
It isn't clear if it is a charging pad or a charging stand, but it will likely be launched alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year. Retailer database suggests that it has dark gray color and supports Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series phone and Galaxy Buds. If it is a charging pad, it should be able to charge all devices that support wireless charging.
The Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ are rumoured to support up to 20W fast wireless charging, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to support 25W fast wireless charging, matching the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max and the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL.
The Galaxy S26 supports 25W fast wired charging, while the Galaxy S26+ is rumoured to top out at 45W wired charging. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumoured to support up to 60W fast wired charging.
Earlier this year, Samsung launched a certified third-party 3-in-1 Qi2 charger that supports up to 15W wireless charging. It can also wirelessly charge a Galaxy Watch and the Galaxy Buds. It would be great if Samsung launched a similar 3-in-1 Qi2 charger but with support for up to 25W charging to properly support the Galaxy S26 series and other Qi2-compatible phones.
Besides faster wireless charging, full Qi2.2 compatibility should also bring support for Qi2 magnetic accessories, such as car mounts, charging stands, charging pucks, pop sockets, power banks, SSDs, and wallets, to Galaxy S26 series phones.
