One UI 8 is close, but maybe not as close as fans would like.

Samsung confirmed in early August that the stable One UI 8 update would start rolling out in September. As expected, the Galaxy S25 series will be the first to receive it, as it was also the first to join the One UI 8 beta program and the latest Galaxy S flagship lineup always leads the pack when it comes to a new version of Android and One UI.
What Samsung hasn't revealed yet is the exact release date, but we may have to rule out a rollout (try saying that five times) in the first week. That's because Samsung is currently preparing a standard security update for the Galaxy S25 series.
This update will likely include the September 2025 security patch, and since Samsung typically delivers new security updates to its latest flagships in the first week of the month, the stable One UI 8 update may not arrive until the second or even the third week of September.
The only thing that's guaranteed is that the stable One UI 8 update will be released at some point in September, at least for the Galaxy S25 series. For other devices, such as the Galaxy S24 lineup or the Galaxy Z Fold 6, the rollout may not begin until October, as these devices only recently joined the One UI 8 beta program.
