Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 7 today. It's a major upgrade over the predecessor, with some meaningful improvements that make the device even more appealing to fans of the clamshell foldable series.
The chipset mystery had long ended, but those who were waiting for official word from Samsung can now come to terms with the fact that this is the first Galaxy Z Flip phone with an Exynos, and not a Snapdragon, chipset.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7's cover display, called Flex Window by Samsung, measures 4.1-inch, noticeably larger than the 3.4-inch panel on its predecessor. The internal foldable display goes up from 6.7-inch on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 to 6.9-inch on the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Both panels hit 2,600 nits of peak brightness and boast a 120Hz refresh rate for buttery smooth scrolling. They're protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Made from Armor Aluminum, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is the thinnest and lightest device in this series, measuring only 13.7mm when folded and weighing 188g. Even though the hinge is thinner than before, its design has been revamped and high-strength materials used to improve durability.
Another noteworthy change is the battery which has jumped from 4,000mAh on the outgoing model to 4,300mAh on the Galaxy Z Flip 7, but the 25W wired charging speed has been retained.
If you've been following the rumors, you won't be surprised to know that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 features an Exynos 2500 processor. It comes with 12GB of RAM as standard with 256GB and 512GB storage configurations.
The camera setup hasn't received any significant upgrades. It's still has 50-megapixel wide and 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensors while a telephoto sensor still evades this series. Samsung has improved things on the software side to deliver better pictures with richer color and improved low-light performance.
Samsung is shipping the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with One UI 8 Android 16 out of the box. It get enhanced Galaxy AI features and for the first time ever, Samsung DeX is now available on a Z Flip series device. Samsung has also extended Gemini Live on the Flex Window, enabling users to access its various AI features without having to unfold the device.
The Flex Window also offers some new camera software features, such as Real-Time filters for quick previews, a new zoom slider for easy zooming, and a Dual Preview mode that shows the composition live to both the photographer and the subject.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is available for pre-order starting today and it will be released on July 25. The handset is available in Blue Shadow, Jetblack, Coral-red, and an online-exclusive Mint color. Prices start at $1,099 in the United States.
