Samsung is rolling out a software update to the Galaxy S24 series in Europe. Is it the much-awaited Android 16-based One UI 8.0?

Last week, Samsung released a software update for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra in Europe, which offered the May 2025 security patch. As the brand has already offered this month's security update to the three phones, it isn't expected to roll out any other software updates to these devices in the region this month. However, it has started rolling out one. Is it the much-awaited Android 16-based One UI 8.0 beta?
Unfortunately, no. Samsung isn't that fast at offering major OS upgrades, which is especially true since the Android 15-based One UI 7 rollout. So, what is it? Well, the South Korean tech giant hasn't provided a changelog for it. Considering that, we think it doesn't offer new features or performance improvements. However, considering that Samsung went out of its way and offered an update, we think it fixes a critical bug.
As pointed out by Tarun Vats, the new software update carries version S92xBXXU4BYE7 and is 1,145.13MB in size. It carries the same May 2025 security patch. To get it, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install. We will soon make the update available in our database for you to download and install manually.
Speaking of software updates, Samsung just surprised everyone by doing something that no one expected it to; it has opened the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 Beta Program for the Galaxy S25 series in Europe. With that, we expect the brand to offer One UI 8 to the Galaxy S24 series very soon.
