More Galaxy S21 users in the USA get One UI 7 update

Samsung is making up for lost time by bringing the One UI 7 (Android 15) update to more and more devices and users around the world with each passing day, even releasing the update to some devices way ahead of schedule, such as the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The Galaxy S21 series started getting One UI 7 at the end of April in Korea, and the update made its way to the USA soon after. The initial release in the US was for carrier-locked units, and Samsung is now bringing the update to users of unlocked units.

You can identify the One UI 7 update for the unlocked Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra variants with the build number G991U1UEUEHYDA, G996U1UEUEHYDA, and G998U1UEUEHYDA respectively. It's 3.5GB in size and you can download it over the air from your phone's Settings » Software update menu. One UI 7 firmware is also available for download from SamMobile.

For those wondering, the Galaxy S21 FE has yet to receive the One UI 7 update in any market. That will change sometime this month, but Samsung hasn't provided a concrete release date. While the Fan Edition model is getting the update later than the other models, a major saving grace is that the Galaxy S21 FE is eligible for one more Android OS upgrade after Android 15 while the S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra aren't.
