The Galaxy S21 series is now receiving One UI 7 ahead of schedule. The 2021 flagship was slated to get the Android 15-based update in May, but we all know that Samsung beat its timeframe by a few days and started rolling out One UI 7 on countless devices on Monday.
The highly anticipated One UI 7 update is live for the Galaxy S21 series in Korea. Other markets will probably follow very soon. In Korea, the update carries firmware version G99xNKSU8HYD9 and weighs roughly 3.5GB (via @tarunvats33)
Today is a special day for Galaxy S21 users everywhere. One UI 7 is the last major OS upgrade for the Galaxy S21 series. The trio of flagships debuted with Android 11 in 2021, and Android 15 with One UI 7 on top is the final major upgrade planned for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra.
These phones will continue to receive security patches for a while, but they have already been downgraded to quarterly patches earlier this year. Their end of support draws near.
If you own one of these now-iconic 2021 Samsung flagships, you can keep an eye on our firmware page and start getting ready for the final push. One UI 7 could reach more markets any day now. We will keep you posted.
You can also check for One UI 7 manually via the Settings app. You probably know the drill by now. Open Settings on the Galaxy S21, access Software update, and tap Download and install. If the update is waiting for you, try to enjoy the moment. It will be the last time you see a huge update landing on your 2021 phone.
And if you are ready for a hardware upgrade, always remember that you might be able to get a decent discount on the Galaxy S25 if you trade in the Galaxy S21, depending on your market. See Samsung's e-shop for details. However, now that the Galaxy S21 is no longer a part of the Certified Re-Newed program, (at least in the USA) its trade-in value may have decreased.
