As you probably know, the rest of the S24 series didn't have this perk last year. We hoped the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ would catch up in 2025, but they haven't.
The new Galaxy S25 Ultra boasts new and improved Gorilla Armor 2 display protection, which Corning says delivers higher resistance and better anti-reflective properties.
However, the base Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ don't enjoy this luxury. They use the same display protection as their predecessors. The base and Plus models have Gorilla Glass Victus 2 at the front and back.
Victus 2 is the latest solution from Corning if you don't count Gorilla Armor and Armor 2, which are kind of their own thing. Victus 2 is a great display solution for what it is, but it doesn't have the Gorilla Armor's anti-reflective capabilities.
For now, the anti-reflective display remains exclusive to the Ultra models. Whether this will change in the future is unknown. But if you were wondering about the S25 and S25+, now you know.
Is this a deal-breaker for anyone looking to upgrade? Probably not, especially if they're replacing a Galaxy S flagship older than 2024. Nevertheless, the lack of Gorilla Armor is one more thing that makes the S25 and S25+ a tad too similar to their predecessors from last year.
