A month ago, it was reported that Samsung was planning to introduce a new virtual assistant, G-NUSMAS, which is an alien. Fast forward to now, in an official newsroom post, Samsung has introduced the large-eyed G-NUSMAS blue alien which is termed to be the brains behind the Korean tech giant's design and innovative technologies.

This G-NUSMAS alien helps Samsung to develop brilliant products that “inspire creativity and empower users.” As noted in the official post, the idea for the creation of this cute alien G-NUSMAS came from a joke that people make whenever Samsung releases a new product, that Samsung must have hired an alien to develop the unique product. You might have heard about the tagline “Designed for humans.”

Moreover, it is Samsung's way of connecting with the younger generation, specifically millenials and Generation Z. The Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Global Marketing at Samsung Electronics, YH Lee, said, “By letting our whimsical and brilliant alien show different sides of Samsung to the public, I hope our consumers can feel more familiar with our brand.

Samsung will launch the G∙NUSMAS alien virtual assistant on September 2 at IFA 2022

If you would notice the name of the alien virtual assistant G-NUSMAS is “SAMSUNG” spelled backward. Its home planet is Nowus-129, which is situated 100 million light years away from the Earth. Again, it is the address of the company's headquarters spelled backward, which actually is 129 Suwon in South Korea. To give more insight into this alien virtual assistant G-NUSMAS, Samsung plans to release a series of short videos that will tell the origin story and the accidental arrival of the alien on our planet Earth.

Samsung will reveal more about the G-NUSMAS virtual assistant at IFA 2022. Its story will be released across Samsung’s social media channels, including YouTube and Facebook, and Samsung.com on September 2. Fans will be able to communicate with G-NUSMAS through social media, the metaverse, and other digital channels.

Samsung’s product naming has a grammar problem

Samsung’s product naming has a grammar problem

I'm a big fan of Samsung using proper nouns to label most of its home electronics. For instance, PC monitors names are no longer just a string of seemingly random letters and numbers. Instead, they belong to lineups named ‘Odyssey' or ‘ViewFinity.' It makes Samsung look better instead of coming across as a company that […]
