Samsung is the undisputed king when it comes to commercially available foldable smartphones. Its Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold series are arguably the most practical foldable smartphones, one can purchase and can be recommended to anyone looking out for a premium foldable phone. Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphones during the Unpacked event 2022 in August.

Both phones, despite minor cosmetic changes, simply brush away the shortcomings of the previous generation Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3. In an official newsroom post, Samsung posted a new video that showcases what goes into making a foldable phone before it reaches the hands of the customer. The video showcases the assembly line and all the processes that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold or Z Flip phone goes through.

After a bunch of rigorous testing, the phone makes its way to the market

The video starts with the back cover assembly, where after putting all the components inside, the back cover is placed on the device precisely. Then the foldable is taken to the next assembly where pressure is applied to fix the back cover firmly onto the device. Then the foldable reaches the functional testing assembly line, where everything, including the proximity sensors, S-Pen, Samsung Pay, etc., is tested.

The foldable then goes through network testing where the performance of the network transmission and reception is tested. Then the camera of the device, along with its features such as resolution, zooming, autofocus, etc., is tested. The phone then makes its way to wireless charging testing and then goes to Flex Mode testing. A water resistance test is conducted inside a chamber after assembling the entire device. Then comes the most important part of a folding phone, the folding test.

Afterward, the buttons are tested by pressing them repeatedly, then again a water resistance test is conducted where water is sprayed at all different angles onto the phone, and the phone is submerged in water. Then finally after a few checkups, the phone is deployed in the market.
