Samsung has new limited-time discounts on a couple of NVM M.2 SSD models in the United States (and possibly other markets), including the 970 EVO Plus and the 980 PRO, with or without a heatsink.

Starting with the older and cheaper model, i.e., the 970 EVO Plus, the new deal cuts the price of the 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB models. The 500GB variant is now available for $80 instead of $95. The 1TB and 2TB models are available for $115 ($45 off) and $190 ($110 off).

The 970 EVO Plus is a PCIe 3.0 x4 drive with top read/write speeds of up to 3,500/3,300 MB/s.

For high-resolution graphics, high-end PC/console gaming, and heavy computing, Samsung offers the newer 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. The 500GB model is $40 off, while the 1TB and 2TB variants cost $155 and $270, instead of $210 and $380, respectively.

The 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD can achieve read/write speeds of 7,000/5,100 MB/s.

Last but not least, you can also choose to buy the 980 PRO SSD with a heatsink at a discount. The 980 PRO with heatsink is essentially the same as the original model, except Samsung gave it a heatsink for the PlayStation 5 gaming console to deliver maximum performance.

It usually costs a bit more than the model without the heatsink. But now, it too is available at a discount. Customers can pick up the 1TB variant for $175 instead of $230 or the 2TB model for $290 (down from $400).
