Google’s new Pixel tablet to go up against the Galaxy Tab S9 in 2023

During the recent Google I/O 2022 event, Google announced its return to the not-so-interesting Android tablet market after 4 years. It unveiled its new Android-powered Pixel tablet, which won't launch until 2023. Although the company did not talk much about its Pixel tablet, it did showcase the design of the product.

The last tablet that Google produced was the Pixel Slate, back in 2018. It ran on the Chrome OS, and it was slated to have a successor, which eventually did not happen. Moreover, the last Android-powered Google tablet was the Pixel C, which launched way back in 2015. Google also confirmed that the tablet will act as a phone companion, bridging the gap between home life and on-the-go activities.

Will the Pixel tablet be a worthy competitor to Samsung's tablets?

There isn't much information about this upcoming Android-powered Google Pixel tablet, but just like its recent smartphones, the tablet is expected to run on Google's Tensor chipset and would go up against the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9. No hints about the pricing of the device were shared, but looking at the design glimpses, the front of the device doesn't look very exciting.

It has large bezels all around, and the position of the front and rear cameras shows that it will be landscape-mode dominant. The tablet will go against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, and it will be interesting to see how it fairs out against, arguably, the company that produces the best Android tablets that money can buy.
